The Mersey Partnership - Talent Programme
Over the last year we have been delivering the management part of this innovative TMP led programme. The idea of the project is to encourage the talent and ability of people working in the hospitality and tourism sector, by giving them a chance to gain greater awareness of management knowledge and skills.
The course we deliver requires the participants to resolve a work based problem, by reviewing the causes and identifying what options are available to resolve the situation in a way that will benefit staff and the company that they work for.
As candidates progress through the course, they are supported by a mentor. This would be a senior manager from within the industry.
This part of the programme is co-ordinated by the other partner company in the project, Shine, People and Places.
The programme has proved to be a huge success, not only in effectiveness and learning but also enjoyment!
The positive impact of the feedback received from local sponsoring employers helped the programme to be the only regional project to be shortlisted for a prestigious Learning Award.
The programme has also been shortlisted for the nationally recognised Springboard award.
The awards ceremony is due to take place at the Dorchester Hotel in London on the 17th January 2008
Fingers crossed that the local success of the Talent programme is recognised on a national basis!
